Our Story

Team Loco was founded in 1998 by James Woods—better known as Woody.

Long before social media, YouTube, or influencers, Woody was out there with a camera supporting the local Arizona action sports scene. Whether it was BMX, FMX, skateboarding, surfing, wakesurfing, motocross, or off-road racing, he was always behind the lens, giving local riders the attention they deserved.

Woody believed athletes shouldn't have to wear the logo of some random company just to feel like they belonged. He wanted to build something that belonged to them—a brand created by the local scene, for the local AZ scene.

With a couple hundred bucks, he printed the first Team Loco shirts, gathered the crew, and produced an epic video (Yes it was a VHS) showcasing the talent that was right in our own backyard. That was the beginning of Team Loco.

It was never about making money.

It was about building a family.

After Woody's passing, Team Loco never truly disappeared. Like life, it had its seasons. We'd come back, disappear for a while, then find ourselves right back where it all started—at the track, on the lake, in the dunes, at the skatepark, behind the boat, and on the beach.

Now, more than 25 years later, we're carrying that vision into the next generation.

The original crew is still out there doing what they love, and now their kids are carving their own lines, sending bigger jumps, riding harder, and creating memories of their own. Team Loco is still about supporting the people who live this lifestyle—not because they're famous, but because they're passionate.

Today we're bringing fresh designs inspired by the sports and places that shaped us. Every shirt, towel, and piece of gear represents a lifestyle built around action, adventure, friendship, and doing what you love.
